    a breeze filled with memories

as soon as i step out the door, a familiar cool breeze goes past. memories collide and are now once again replaying through my head. memories of us playing in the sand. racing down slides and seeing who could jump off the swing the furthest. memories of playing soccer on the field with everyone we could possibly get to play. memories of going to and coming back from school. the times that we had to hold on to one another so we wouldn’t fly away. memories in school of jump rope for heart and those terry fox marathons. the times we had playing around the field. or just walking lengths…

    peach picking and kittens

feet aching. tired smiles. light shining through the blinds. it’s the end of a great day spent out with my family. we went fruit picking, as we do at least once every year. only around the time where the peaches come out. and of course the plums. usually, we take someone with us, but this year we spent it with just us. it was kinda nice not having to care about the other people thinking we were a crazy family. i mean my sister probably wouldn’t be screaming while running around while they were here. or just lying down in the middle of the field cause we were tired. or…

    memories from eid

Eid Mubarak !!! here’s a lil bit about this eid, which is called eid-ul-adha. it is celebrated on the 10th day of the last month of the islamic calendar, after muslims from around the world complete pilgrimage, or hajj, to Mecca, Saudia Arabia. it’s one of the few things muslims should do, but only if they are able to afford it, however it’s not compulsory in islam. another reason why this eid is important, is due to muslims sacrificing an animal, usually goats, or cows, to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham. these are just a few basic things you should know about why we celebrate eid-ul-adha! we’ve been celebrating eid all of our lives, and it’s honestly the few days thats we go hardcore party mode… well kind of. for me eid is my favourite day,…

    memories from my first friend

writing prompt: write to your first friend you were the first person that was my friend outside of family friends. i talked with you all by myself. my sister wasn’t at my side, nor my parents pushing me to make a new friend and talk to someone my age. we were so young then but became fast friends. i don’t remember many of our early memories together, but i know we enjoyed each others company greatly. i remember you inviting me to your birthday parties, and where we made those necklaces together. i still have it, and i really love it… even though there were just a bunch of beads strung…

    hidden between the shelves

writing prompt: what do you see hidden between the shelves hidden between the shelves she lay on her little belly where no one could see. she’d be in another place than the one most would see her in. to others, she was a little girl with ponytails, glasses and a dress with jeans hiding between the shelves of the local public library. she, however, was in a world entirely of her own. where dragons breathed fire, but also help little girls find their way home. where fairies came to help you when you needed it most. where you were whisked away in the middle of the night to compete in ice skating to…

    summer

writing prompt: who is summer to you summer is the one you’ve always loved. she would come and go throughout your life multiple times, but would always leave behind the best memories for you to savour and cherish along the years. she brings happiness everywhere she goes, shining brightly and showing everyone what she’s capable of. summer is the confident one who loves to show what she has done. although credit is never given to spring who helped along the way, creating something so beautiful with her heartache and pain from what came before. everyone and every little thing smiles when she comes by. savouring this time, and enjoying their time…
