hidden between the shelves

writing prompt: what do you see hidden between the shelves

hidden between the shelves she lay on her little belly where no one could see. she’d be in another place than the one most would see her in. to others, she was a little girl with ponytails, glasses and a dress with jeans hiding between the shelves of the local public library. she, however, was in a world entirely of her own. where dragons breathed fire, but also help little girls find their way home. where fairies came to help you when you needed it most. where you were whisked away in the middle of the night to compete in ice skating to receive a magical pair of skates that could take you back home. where being part of a ballet company and winning the competition was your only worry. where riding horses at a boarding school was all you ever wanted. where you’d be whisked away to the 19th century in gowns and riding horseback. where you lived in a castle far far away, where no one could see you. where you were a half-blood, with a roman god’s blood in your veins. where adventures with the boxcar children never grew old. where fighting off giant spiders was minuscule compared to what would come next. where living in a castle with moving stairs and magic was the only thing you wanted. where you go on a huge hunt against your cousins and family for clues for a family secret. she is there hidden between the shelves in her own little world, where anything is possible, and she can’t wait to see what happens next.
